Douglas J. Goglia is an attorney with over 30 years of experience who focuses his practice in the areas of Litigation, Business Law, Constitutional Law, Civil Rights Law, Labor and Employment Law, Administrative Law, Election Law, Media Law, Antitrust Law, Trademark and Copyright Law, and Whistleblower Law.
Mr. Goglia began his legal career in the litigation departments of prominent New York City law firms. He has worked in antitrust enforcement with the Federal Trade Commission, in election law enforcement with the New York State Board of Elections’ Bureau of Election Law Enforcement, and spent over 16 years serving as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the New York State Attorney General where he defended litigation against the State, State Agencies, and State officers and employees, including civil rights actions commenced under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, While with the Office of the Attorney General, Mr. Goglia; regularly handled complex litigation and tried cases to verdict.
Most recently, Mr. Goglia served as Deputy General Counsel at the New York Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, where he prepared agency regulations and legislation relating to homelessness and shelters for persons experiencing homelessness, oversaw the agency’s enforcement of its shelter regulations, served as the agency’s Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) director, and directed much of the agency’s litigation,
Mr. Goglia is a graduate of the University of Vermont. He received his J.D. from Albany Law School where he graduated cum laude and was an editor of the Albany Law Review.
