Equine and Gaming Law

The Towne Law Firm, P.C. services

As a former owner and breeder, Principal James Towne has a wealth of first-hand unique experience with the various aspects of the equine industry, Gaming Law and Equine Law.

The Towne Law Firm, P.C. members James Towne and Michael Rhodes-Devey played a critical role in the acquisition and reactivation of New York State’s two newest harness tracks, Tioga Downs and Vernon Downs, resulting in the addition of hundreds of construction jobs in 2005 and 2006 and hundreds of new jobs of full employment to New Yorkers. The Firm’s efforts have ranged from working towards successfully securing the facilities out of bankruptcy proceedings, to working with various legislative leaders for necessary legislative changes, to successfully defending against efforts to block the opening of both facilities to obtaining numerous local and state permits and licenses necessary for the facilities to open.

From Advance Deposit Wagering to the intricacies of breeding contracts, The Towne Law Firm, P.C. has an attorney that can help out.

Leave the tough stuff to us – and get back to the track.
