Mark T. Houston

Mark Houston focuses his practice in Civil Litigation, Municipal Law, Public Housing, and Personal Injury Law. He regularly works with municipal entities defending cases with regards to premise liability and civil rights matters. In addition to his civil litigation practice, Mark also practices in the areas of Landlord-tenant Law, Estates and Probates, Environmental Law, Real Estate Law and Native American Law.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Houston worked for several years at the University at Buffalo Archaeological Survey as a project director providing cultural resource management services to a diverse range of clients. In his tenure at UB, Mr. Houston guided clients through the regulatory schemes relating to Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Section 1409 of the New York State Historic Preservation Act, State Environmental Quality Review Act as well as making determinations about the eligibility of archaeological sites for the National and New York State Registries. During this time, he also worked closely with Native American groups on preservation issues. To that end he still works with state and local groups on legal issues concerning historic preservation and cultural resource management issues.
