Christine E. Taylor
Attorney
Christine E. Taylor focuses her practice in the areas of Hospitality Law, Business Law, Labor and Employment Law, Real Estate Law, Administrative Law, Estate Law, Not-For-Profit Law and Litigation.
Ms. Taylor found her way to law school after a career as a professional opera singer, receiving both a Bachelor and Master Degree of Music in Voice Performance. She attended the UCLA School of Law where she received her J.D. When residing in Los Angeles and prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Taylor worked in Entertainment Law, helping both start-ups and production companies. In this role, Ms. Taylor developed contracts and amendments, and provided Independent Contractor and Employment Contracts.
Ms. Taylor grew up within the campground industry, working at parks in both the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Franchise and the Kampgrounds of America Franchise. Armed with two decades of experience, Ms. Taylor is quick to point out the legal issues that apply to outdoor hospitality business owners. She has provided a wide variety of services to campgrounds, RV Parks, and glamping venues, including seasonal licenses, waivers, employment contracts, real estate services and even litigation services as needed.
Christine’s municipal experience includes serving as counsel for county ethics boards and various municipalities throughout New York State. Ms. Taylor’s experience ranges from drafting legislation; handling regulatory, statutory, and constitutional compliance; overseeing and fielding ethics complaints; interpreting local code and state law; handling tax certiorari proceedings; and providing advisement on all other issues as they came before the board.
Additionally, Ms. Taylor has experience reviewing commercial real estate leases, building and loan agreements, and preparing non-compete agreements, and waivers. She has also reviewed and responded to complaints under the NYS Division of Human Rights and the EEOC.
Ms. Taylor’s background uniquely equips her to provide valuable insights and guidance to nonprofit organizations. She has a proven history of skillfully navigating the intricate landscape of running individual state associations, addressing diverse legal aspects such as bylaws, meeting records, bank accounts and loans, corporate liability, member and vendor interactions, public relations and communications, employee matters, ADA compliance concerning websites, facilities, and service animals, and much more.
Although Ms. Taylor has lived all over the United States, she is proud to finally be settled in Upstate New York, her favorite place of all her childhood homes. She is happily married to her Canadian husband (after gaining a thorough understanding of the United States immigration process), has two children, and enjoys keeping music in her life, however she can.
Christine Taylor is a Principal Partner at TLF.
